Completed at Grand Prairie, Texas by Aerospatiale as an SA366G1 (HH-65A).

Accepted into service 19/2/86 as an SA366G1 (HH-65A).

Upgraded to AS366GA standard at The Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Elizabeth City, NC.

Operated by the United States Coast Guard as an HH-65C by 2008.

Crashed 20/4/10 on Lake Huron, Michigan. Immediately after completing night hoist

training and while transitioning from a hover to forward flight, the helicopter crashed

into Lake Huron. All three crew members successfully exited the helicopter and

suffered no major injuries. The airframe sustained significant structural

damage and remains out of service.
